Eersterust Care and ┬áTraining Centre and Mpho’s Dream (Mamelodi)

Chrysalis Presschool supports Eersterust Care and Training Centre, which is a centre for children with disabilities situated within the community of Eersterust. Eersterust Care and Training Centre initially opened their doors to children with Cerebral Palsy, but have since accepted children on the Autistic Spectrum, as a need was evident. Chrysalis Preschool provides them with necessary staff training, practical resources, a therapeutic program and adapted curriculum, in order to establish an effective class for children with Autism in their centre.

In 2013 our specific program into all their classes has been implemented and so extending this project. Staff received training and ongoing support is provided weekly. Both staff and children enrolled in their centre have derived great benefit from the progressive program, and we are now addressing their class for profoundly disabled and working together to help them establish a sufficient stimulation program aimed at enhancing independence.

In 2014, Chrysalis adopted Mpho’s Dream as a second outreach. Mpho’s Dream is a facility situated in Mamelodi and accomodates children with any special need, no matter the extent of the disability. Chrysalis Preschool provides the facility with necessary staff training, practical resources, a therapeutic program and adapted curriculum, in order to establish independence and the children’s full potential.
