Stimulation Centre

emran 2The Chrysalis Stimulation and Care Centre, which has been integrated into the school, provides a multidisciplinary therapeutic environment, aimed at enhancing a severe or profoundly disabled child’s independent functioning. Children receive the same weekly group therapies as the preschool, namely Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Music Therapy and Hydrotherapy, but they additionally receive monthly individual Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy sessions. These help to prevent secondary complications which arise from their initial diagnosis, as the children become older.

Daily activities are grouped into four categories namely:

  • Gross motor stimulation
  • Fine motor stimulation
  • Sensory stimulation
  • Independence skills training

All the activities are graded weekly and progress tracked monthly. A ratio of 1 caregiver to 3 children exists.
